Race Day Rehash

The race wasn't actually 500 miles long this year.  Buddy Rice was given the checkered flag after completing 180 laps, just twenty laps shy of a full race.  The storm moved in, and 350,000 people got the hell outtie.
ABC Sports was on the air live for eight hours, 22 minutes during its broadcast of the 88th Indianapolis 500, (though in Indianapolis, the race is blacked out). After the day these people had at the track this year, I'm glad I didn't go.  Here are some highlights of the race,  which I was at least able to listen to between tornado sirens and stuff.

Roop brings tie-dye to the oval.

Photos of Indy's own red carpet., with some of the alleged "celebs"(Hee, Kaito), and some other people no one really recognizes.
Also, don't miss some of the "Celeb" Quotes

Other items of note:

Who wants to be a Hoosier Millionaire?
Letterman is Finally Speechless,  well almost.
Speedway Collectibles / Indy 500 stuff~ Places to get important race day gear and souvenirs. Like shot glasses.  And beer huggies.  And ponchos.
And, maybe most importantly, and my favorite,
How to Party at the 500 and Not go to Jail
